Oscillograms for the same motor, showing the dramatic reduction of the starting currents without an increase in starting time. DOL current is 101A rms, reducing to 43A rms when started using the Quickstart. The lower curves show the impact of both systems on the local supply network. The DOL imposed a falling voltage reduction of 10.6% at the point of common connection at this location. A 5% reduction is the maximum allowed. The motor when fitted with the Quickstart recorded a fall of only 4.2%.
