| Oscillograms for the same motor, showing the dramatic reduction of the starting currents without an increase in starting time. DOL current is 85Arms, reducing to 30Arms when started using the Hyperstart. The lower curves show the impact of both systems on the local supply network. The DOL imposed a falling voltage reduction of 11.7% at the Point of Common Connection at this location. A 5% reduction is the maximum allowed. The motor when fitted with the Hyperstart recorded a fall of only 4%. (Motor under test was a 2.5Hp Toshiba PH330X3J, tested on a domestic site, line impedance of 0.4ohms, 0.32ohms at the PoCC). |

Features of the Hyperstart: 1. Complies with 45amp limit 2. EMC compliant 3. Can be supplied to introduce an anti-cycle delay 4. Random power up delay. 5. More tolerant of poor quality power supplies 6. Internal shutdown protection for motor and soft-starter 7. Starting current has close to unity power factor. 8. Starting time is similar to DOL 9. Current reduction is approximately 3:1 10. Light Flicker reduction is approximately 7:1 11. Smaller in size. Lighter in weight. 12. Reduces the stress on the compressor of DOL starting 13. Can increase the maximum number of starts per hour 14. Removes the necessity for a motor curve circuit breaker 15. Reduces the stress on the motor during starts 16. Electronic monitoring of motor status 17. Maximum starting torque available 18. Excellent low voltage starting performance 19. Simple installation 20. Totally self contained 21. Enclosure can be up to IP65 rating 22. Supply frequency error detection 23. No heatsink required 24. No internal heat generated 25. No voltage drop during normal running conditions |
